Job Overview

This senior mental health practitioner position is part of a dynamic community mental health team operating under a recovery-oriented model of care. The team utilizes the Strengths Model of Case Management and works with consumers experiencing First Episode and Early Psychosis.

About the Role

This role presents an excellent opportunity to increase skills in a senior capacity. As a senior mental health practitioner, you will provide a high standard of clinical assessment, treatment, and support to clients of the adult Mental Health Service and their carers, demonstrating excellence in discipline-specific and recovery-focused case management skills.

  • Provide leadership and supervision to staff within the Strengths Model of recovery-oriented practice
  • Work one-to-one and build a therapeutic alliance with the consumer and family/carers actively engaging them in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of their care
  • Undertake assessments, provision of treatment, and delivery of targeted interventions to consumers with first episode psychosis and their family/carers
Your Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Current registration with AHPRA (if applicable)
  • A minimum of 5 years post-qualification clinical experience for Nursing, and 7 years post-qualification clinical experience for Allied Health within Mental Health Services
  • Extensive experience in the provision of assessment, discipline-specific intervention, and case management services for consumers experiencing early psychosis, as well as providing appropriate support for their carers and families within a recovery framework
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision to other mental health staff
  • A comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Act 2022 (including amendments) and other relevant legislation
  • Current Victorian driver's license
  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain
