We are seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering group, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Jemena's data platform infrastructure. This includes providing technical strategy and solutions to enhance our data engineering capabilities, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our data environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms using Databricks, Terraform, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments using GitLab.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with Confluent Kafka, SAP HANA, and TimescaleDB.
  • Collaborate with product teams to review and guide code changes, ensuring alignment with best practices and architectural standards.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in designing, building, and managing scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms.
  • Extensive hands-on expertise with Databricks, Terraform, and AWS cloud infrastructure, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and disaster recovery management.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
  • Familiarity with data orchestration (Apache Airflow) and large-scale data ingestion patterns.
  • Experience in agile environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, with a strong focus on FinOps for cloud cost optimisation.
