**Chairperson Wanted for Audit Risk and Improvement Committee**
**Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to lead our Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC). The committee consists of three independent external members with diverse personal attributes, professional skills, and experience relevant to our operations.
The chair must possess strong leadership qualities, facilitate effective meetings, and maintain positive working relationships with the ARIC and our team. This role involves overseeing the committee’s 4-year strategic work plan, annual operational plan, and reporting process while collaborating closely with us to enhance internal audit processes.
Key requirements include:
- Independence from our organization and staff;
- Relevant qualifications or significant experience in business administration, risk management, assurance, financial management, or law;
- Understanding and/or experience in local government;
- Knowledge of corporate governance principles;
- Relevant experience on similar committees in local government, public, or private sectors.
Meetings will be held quarterly, lasting up to two hours. Preparation will involve reviewing papers and discussing with other members and our staff.
