As a consultant with our esteemed Acute Ophthalmology Service, you will have the opportunity to deliver high-quality patient-centred care and on-call services as rostered.

About the Role

The successful applicants will provide effective and timely patient care and manage complex cases, ensuring seamless integration into our multidisciplinary team. Senior Medical Staff also provide supervision, education, and training to Junior Medical Staff, nursing, and allied health staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage high-complexity patient caseloads with minimal supervision
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and guidelines in consultation with senior medical staff
  • Contribute to the advancement of ophthalmology through research and professional development opportunities
Requirements
  • Eligibility for Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO)
  • Current registration with the relevant healthcare regulatory agency
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
