MacKillop Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Worker to join our Out of Home Care program. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing residential care and support to young people with high and complex needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the day-to-day operation of the unit, responding to the emotional and functional needs of the young people, and developing their personal skills. You will also be required to perform administrative tasks and household duties.
Key Responsibilities- Provide residential care and support to young people with high and complex needs
- Participate in the day-to-day operation of the unit
- Respond to the emotional and functional needs of the young people
- Develop personal skills and provide support for daily living
- Perform administrative tasks and household duties
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) or other similar or relevant tertiary qualifications
- Genuine interest in young people and their wellbeing
- Demonstrate empathy for young people in care in an open-minded and non-judgmental manner
- Highly developed capacity for emotional self-regulation, including the ability to set and maintain consistent boundaries
