Job Description

As a vital member of the Data Management team, you will play a pivotal role in executing the strategic roadmap for data management and embedding best practices across the organisation.

You will collaborate closely with your manager to drive business value through effective data stewardship, leveraging tools and processes to support stakeholders in managing their data assets.

This is a critical enabler for business success, directly impacting customer experiences and driving growth. Your work will provide trusted and available data for informed decision-making and strategic outcomes.

You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Information Office, Customer & Enterprise, Core Products and Workflow, Architecture, Technology Services, and Planning & Delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Commercial experience (2-3 years) in a similar data steward role
  • Intermediate understanding of the data quality lifecycle and intermediate data discovery and data profiling skills
  • Intermediate experience using Excel/SQL and Power BI skills or equivalent toolsets
  • Solid experience using data quality/governance tools and intermediate understanding of Information Management principles
  • Awareness of Australian financial industry regulation and legislation relating to data, privacy, and risk (e.g., APRA, ASIC, FAR, OAIC, AML / CTF legislation)
  • Familiarity with data management and data governance frameworks and standards (e.g., DAMA -DMBOK, ISO, CPGs)
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in business, finance, IT, or information management
  • Tertiary qualifications covering data quality, data governance or data stewardship
