About the Role:

We are looking for a talented pastry chef with a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery/Patisserie and 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a la carte hotel restaurants or functions kitchens, with excellent planning and organizational skills, creative approach to providing high-quality desserts, and a solid understanding of food safety and HACCP principles.

  • Develop and refine recipes, experimenting with ingredients and techniques to innovate new pastry offerings.
  • Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely service.

The successful candidate will be required to work under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, demonstrating initiative and teamwork skills while maintaining good personal presentation.

About You:
  • Certificate III in Commercial cookery/patisserie (minimum)
  • 3 years post apprenticeship
  • Experience in a similar role in an a la carte hotel restaurant or functions kitchen will be highly regarded
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Enthusiasm and creative approach to providing high-quality desserts
  • An understanding of food safety and HACCP principle
