The Residential Care Worker plays a vital role in providing 24-hour care and support to young people with high and complex needs.
About the role:
We offer residential care, home based care, lead tenant and case management support for young people who require extra assistance. The Residential Care Worker is responsible for daily operations, responding to the emotional and functional needs of the young person, developing their personal skills, and ensuring administrative requirements are met.
Opportunities are available in our Southern Suburbs location, working within our Out of Home Care program. The position reports directly to the Residential House Supervisor.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar qualification in Youth Work
- Demonstrated experience as a youth worker supporting young people
- Extensive knowledge of trauma and its impact on young people's development and behavior
- A genuine interest in promoting the wellbeing of young people
- Demonstrated empathy and non-judgmental approach when interacting with young people
- Highly developed emotional self-regulation skills, including setting and maintaining consistent boundaries
