Beachside Café & Bar is a renowned dining establishment that prides itself on serving exceptional meals crafted from the freshest ingredients. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Chef to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and motivate kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and supervision.
• Monitor the quality of raw and prepared ingredients.
• Prepare dishes according to established recipes.
• Ensure the kitchen team meets hygiene standards and meals are served promptly to customers.
• Check seasoning, garnishing, and portion sizes align with restaurant standards.
• Oversee kitchen operations, coordinating activities, and guiding staff on the correct use of cooking equipment and techniques.
• Manage food storage to ensure temperature control.
• Analyze and estimate food and labor costs.
• Monitor the temperatures of cooking appliances like grills and ovens.
• Develop new seasonal menu options and adjust existing menu items and pricing to maintain minimal overhead costs.
• Oversee food preparation to accommodate special dietary requirements.
• Manage inventory, ensuring high-quality ingredients, and placing orders for necessary stock.
• Enforce professionalism and occupational health and safety compliance among staff.

Requirements

• Minimum Certificate IV qualification in Commercial Cookery.
• At least one year's experience in a similar role.
• Enthusiastic and motivated individual.
• Friendly, positive & approachable attitude.
• Adherence to OH&S and Food Safety regulations.
• Availability 7 days a week including days/nights/weekends/split shifts and public holidays.
