Leader of Learning and Teaching

Catholic Schools Broken Bay is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Leader of Learning and Teaching - HSIE and Languages. This is a permanent full-time opportunity.

The Leader of Learning and Teaching leads from Year 7 to Year 12 and works in collaboration with the Deputy Head, Curriculum Lead K-12, Head of Senior School and Head of Middle School to deliver an authentic, professional Catholic education with care and compassion. The Leader of Learning and Teaching leads the combined faculties of HSIE and Languages: Japanese.

Specific Criteria

  • Be suitably qualified to teach and lead HSIE and Languages (Japanese).
  • Have experience in leading and managing staff.
  • Support and implement the goals and values of Catholic education and the strategic priorities of the College.
  • Proven ability to apply sound pedagogical practices to create a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to the needs of all learners.
  • Skilled in analysing and reflecting on student learning data to ensure learning growth for all students.
  • Highly effective in managing and facilitating safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive student welfare practices.
  • Willingness to contribute to the broader extracurricular aspects of school life as an active member of the school community.
  • Promote and understand the importance of assessment practice, data analysis and feedback to enhance learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic professional learning community.
  • Proficient in the use of technology to enhance student learning.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading and managing staff, with a strong focus on creating a motivating and engaging learning environment. They will be skilled in analysing and reflecting on student learning data to ensure learning growth for all students, and will be highly effective in managing and facilitating safe and supportive learning environments.
