Library Specialist

This is a key role in supporting open education and copyright awareness at Flinders University.

The Library Specialist plays a crucial part in advocating, engaging, and collaborating with the academic community to promote open education and equitable knowledge sharing.

This position involves providing expert advice on open licensing and copyright, ensuring compliance, and contributing to a culture of open scholarship.

To succeed in this role, you will bring relevant experience or a combination of education and training, along with a strong interest in open education and copyright.

You will have a working understanding of Australian copyright legislation or a willingness to learn, and be passionate about supporting open education and equitable learning.

As a clear communicator who enjoys building relationships and engaging with academic staff and students, you will be organised, proactive, and confident in delivering training, creating resources, and contributing to collaborative projects.

In addition to the above, you will also demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to apply project methodology and manage deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs and outreach efforts and to develop, design and deliver training programs, educative resources, and professional activities.
  • General to broad knowledge of trends in copyright, open scholarship, open education practice, and scholarly publishing in higher education.
