The YMCA Brisbane's childcare services have been at the heart of Australian communities for over 40 years, with our first early learning centre opening in Brisbane in 1977. This was driven by our commitment to help children grow in body, mind and spirit.

YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) provides engaging, safe and fun care for primary and secondary school children before and after school. At OSHC, children participate in various activities such as cooking, sports, music, art, dance and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Service Coordinator with day-to-day running of the service and management of a team of Educators;
  • Support the Coordinator with staff management;
  • Ensure compliance with policy;
  • Undertake administrative requirements;
  • Work collaboratively with families and the school community.

Selection Criteria:

  • Completed (or close to completion) of relevant qualifications in Childcare or Teaching (Minimum of Diploma in Children Services);
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare;
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC service;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain;
  • Certificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain.

About the Role:

In this position, you will be an integral part of the team, assisting with the development of quality programs, managing the day-to-day running of the programs, supporting the Coordinator with staff management and ensuring compliance with policy.
