Westgold is a leading gold mining company in Western Australia.

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to lead our underground operations at the Beta Hunt Mine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and supervising weekly drill and blast activities, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to safety standards.

The Key Responsibilities:
  • Drill and Blast Planning: Plan, supervise and implement weekly drill and blast activities to optimize recovery and minimize dilutions.
  • Production Management: Schedule, own, plan and manage the 3MS process using Deswik IS to ensure efficient production and optimal resource utilization.
  • Engineering Excellence: Ensure adherence to and continuous improvement of drill and blast standards to optimize recovery and minimize dilutions.
  • Culture Development: Promote a high-performance culture by actively coaching, engaging with and providing feedback to Production and Graduate Engineers.
  • Operational Support: Assist the Mining Manager/Alternate with a range of operational and technical tasks, including fulfilling statutory responsibilities when required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Qualification: Hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering.
  • Software Proficiency: Possess strong level in mining software (Deswik IS, Deswik CAD, Deswik UDGM, VEntsim) and Microsoft tools to support Production and reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
  • People Management: Possess people management skills.
  • Report Writing: Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrate ability to take a strategic approach to the continuous improvement of services to achieve the best outcomes for the organization.
