Product Development Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team and contribute to the success of our product development efforts.

BizCover's Product Team is at the heart of this mission, working closely with insurer partners to optimize, maintain, and evolve what we offer. As a key member of this team, you will analyze change requests, assess commercial viability, and translate them into clear, actionable stories for our Product Maintenance squad.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal Product Specialists and Insurance Partners on BAU updates to ensure compliance and competitiveness in the market. This involves working closely with technology project teams to define capabilities and support operations.

This role offers deep exposure to insurance products, commercial decision-making, and delivery processes. You'll work closely with a tight-knit, supportive team and gain valuable experience in product development and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze insurer requests in collaboration with Senior BAs and insurance product managers to assess technical and commercial fit.
  • Turn concepts into clear Jira tickets, including documents, occupations, ratings, algorithms, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead refinement sessions with developers, QA, and technical BAs to ensure delivery clarity for the Product Maintenance squad.
  • Validate completed work before it heads to QA and keep documentation up to date in document management tools.
  • Partner with underwriters and insurer teams to clarify pricing and product changes.
  • Support Agile ceremonies and maintain 2–3 sprints worth of refined, ready-to-go stories.
Requirements
  • 2–3 years as a Business Analyst, ideally in a product-heavy, insurance, fintech, or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery frameworks and writing testable, value-driven user stories.
  • Proficiency in Jira and Confluence; document management experience is a plus.
  • A detail-oriented, analytical mindset with great communication skills.
  • The ability to balance commercial priorities with technical feasibility.
  • Sydney based, or able to travel to Sydney each Tuesday and Friday.
