Tree Climber Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tree Climber to join our team of experts in the tree service and plant care industry.

About the Job:

  • Operate heavy equipment, hand tools, and power equipment such as bucket trucks, brush trucks, claw trucks, chippers, pole saws, pruning saws, pole pruners, power pole saws, and chainsaws.
  • Repair, sharpen, and maintain equipment and tools.
  • Perform basic felling and rigging, along with aerial rigging over obstacles.
  • Ensure all appropriate tools, supplies, and materials are loaded on the truck, well maintained, and accounted for.
  • Perform job briefing and assist the Crew Leader in work zone set-up and utilizing safety PPE.
  • Complete tree risk assessment and job site assessment.
  • Communicate verbally and visually with all members of the crew.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a range of machinery, including bucket trucks and chainsaws.
  • Maintain and repair equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the crew to achieve safe and efficient outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of trees and job sites.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience with rope and saddle climbing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of knots and technical rigging.
  • Ability to work effectively at heights above 10 feet.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
