About the Role:
The PositionThis is an excellent opportunity for experienced medical professionals to work alongside our dedicated team of consultants and senior medical staff. As a registrar, you will be responsible for managing private and public inpatients and outpatients within the hospital, while receiving guidance and supervision from senior colleagues.
In addition to your clinical duties, you will have the opportunity to participate in workplace-based assessments (WBAs) and contribute to the development of our training programs.

Facility OverviewOur hospital has a rich history dating back to 1804, making it Australia's second-oldest healthcare facility. As a leading hub for clinical education, research, and collaboration with the University of Tasmania, we offer accredited training opportunities in various fields, including anaesthetics, hyperbaric medicine, paediatrics, and ICU.
With a reputation as the primary referral center for the entire state of Tasmania, we provide healthcare services to a population exceeding 240,000 residents. Our comprehensive range of medical and surgical services includes general and specialized disciplines, such as paediatrics, obstetrics, and psychiatry.
As the state's Tertiary Trauma Center, we offer specialized care for severe injuries, with a busy Emergency Department attending to approximately 65,000 patients each year. With a 36-month ACEM accreditation for comprehensive training and a Tier 1 designation, we are committed to delivering high-quality medical education and WBA opportunities.
Requirements:
- General, Provisional or Limited registration with AHPRA registration/ able to obtain AHPRA registration.
- SIMG's that have been assessed by ACEM and deemed partially or substantially comparable.
- IMG's that have completed the AMC MCQ (part 1)
- IMG's that are eligible via Competent Authority Pathway (work experience in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland)
Salary: As per Tasmanian state award
