A Career in Data Center Physical Security
We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Physical Security Architect/Engineer to join our enterprise data centre design team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing the data centres of tomorrow to maximize the effectiveness of our physical security program. You'll work closely with our data centre architectural and engineering team to ensure security best practices are observed and help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer low voltage systems
- Use Blue Beam and other drafting technologies to produce designs in Revit/CAD
- Create specifications and scope of work documentation templates for local project managers to use for vendor bids
- Provide technical and design support for local physical security teams
- Coordinate with all disciplines in the design process of a new building (architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, IT)
- Supervise and approve designs developed by the local physical security team and analyze, accept or reject alternate designs and mitigation measures when the standard design can't be applied
- Act as a subject matter expert to support implementation of new technologies
- Work regionally and globally to ensure alignment on decisions and standards

About the Role
This role requires a BA/BS degree in Architectural, Electrical Engineering, or Physical Security or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years' experience in physical security system design and engineering, 5+ years' experience with one or more drafting technologies such as AutoCad, BlueBeam, and others. A personal network of international security technology professionals and relevant certifications like PSP, CPP, PMP, and CPTED are preferred but not required.
