About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Graduate Data Scientist to join our team.

As a key member of our analytics business unit, you will assist in solving complex problems through innovative technical solutions and data insights.

You will work alongside a dynamic and ambitious team committed to enhancing the Gold Coast way of life through data-driven innovation across infrastructure, transportation, community services, urban planning, and economic development.

A key focus will be the delivery of high-value data insights from large structured and unstructured datasets, using modern tools and coding practices to drive automation and service improvements.

You will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver meaningful, actionable insights.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain databases, data visualisations, and reports to support business decisions.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations, and provide recommendations for process improvement.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven projects and initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python.
  • Ability to tailor communication style and content to suit different audiences, from technical peers to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, AI, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools, version control systems, and cloud-based solutions.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this opportunity, you must hold a recognised bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years or be completing prior to commencement. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program and be able to work full-time.
