Job Overview:

A project and asset accountant opportunity has arisen to support the financial management of significant capital projects within a public sector environment.

  • Build partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders for smooth project execution and client service.
  • Validate capital project accruals by ensuring alignment with invoicing for accurate financial records.
  • Collaborate with asset accountants and quantity surveyors to guide asset capitalisation in line with policies.
  • Contribute to improving financial management practices during the engagement.
  • Support system enhancements and internal controls to optimise infrastructure investments.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports on cashflows, accruals, and asset accounting for senior management review.
  • Participate in team meetings to address project finance and asset management issues.

Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification in finance, accountancy, commerce, or economics.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or similar financial systems.
  • Expertise in infrastructure financial management.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven experience supporting or managing capital projects.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills.
