Network Planning Leader

We are seeking an experienced and skilled leader to join our Distribution Network Strategy & Planning team.

This role will lead comprehensive strategic planning processes to assess network capabilities, identify areas of limitation, and develop network solution and contingency plans.

You will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders, including DEECA, AEMO, and the AER. Your responsibilities will include providing high-quality network studies, constraint analysis, option evaluations, long-term plans, and strategic and technical input to our stakeholders and business.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement and is based in Southbank. As a Network Planning Leader, you will have the opportunity to make real impact on Australia's cleaner energy future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead comprehensive strategic planning processes to assess network capabilities (long & short-term)
  • Develop network solution and contingency plans
  • Manage delivery of current and emerging non-network solutions required to reduce network demand and generation
  • Act as the technical subject matter expert for the business in all Network Planning matters

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification and experience in Engineering
  • Extensive experience in contemporary electricity network planning, asset management practices, and overarching markets
  • Expert proficiency in using electricity network analysis tools or relevant software
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously from conception to implementation
  • Detailed knowledge of National Electricity Rules, energy markets, and relevant laws, regulations, rules, licences, and agreements
