We are seeking a talented and experienced Corporate Counsel to join our dynamic legal team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will provide professional support to our Senior Corporate Counsel and team, focusing on commercial and transactional legal services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and draft commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with Aon's risk profile.
  • Provide timely and effective legal advice on various projects, service offerings, and operational matters.
  • Review and approve marketing materials and collateral for external publication.
  • Monitor new and changing laws and regulations, providing advice and gap analyses.
  • Solve complex problems, demonstrating conceptual and innovative thinking.
  • Communicate legal requirements effectively, persuading and negotiating optimal outcomes.
  • Build collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders within and outside Aon.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of post-qualified experience in a top or middle-tier law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Previous relevant corporate and commercial experience or general insurance sector and/or financial services sector experience required.
  • Specific knowledge of insurance law in Australia preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced team.
  • Strong analytic skills, including the ability to analyze and discern issues, risks, and solutions.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately, managing multiple engagements and competing priorities.
  • Strong people skills, with the ability to work with others under pressure and resolve conflict constructively.
  • Culturally sensitive and empathetic, with the ability to work across all levels of Aon.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate ideas to sophisticated internal clients.
  • Ability to process delicate and highly confidential information with discretion.
  • A proactive and self-disciplined approach.
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented, and client-focused.
  • Able to uphold values of openness, integrity, honesty, and teamwork.
