About the Role

This strategic finance leader will oversee day-to-day operations, driving long-term financial sustainability and organisational growth.

  • Manage budgeting and forecasting
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Oversee audit, funding acquittals, and statutory compliance
  • Provide financial leadership for procurement and contract oversight
  • Enhance internal controls, cashflow, and payroll cost analysis
  • Support insurance renewals, risk mitigation, and investment strategies
  • Mentor finance staff and build internal financial literacy organisation-wide
  • Lead digital automation and process improvement projects in the finance function

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and implement comprehensive budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure accurate predictions and informed decision-making.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Audit and Compliance: Oversee audit processes, ensure funding acquittals are completed on time, and maintain statutory compliance.
  • Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial guidance for procurement and contract management, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Cashflow and Cost Analysis: Analyse and improve internal controls, cash flow, and payroll cost structures.
  • Risk Management: Support insurance renewals, risk mitigation strategies, and investment opportunities.
  • Team Development: Mentor finance staff, promoting internal financial literacy and best practices throughout the organisation.
  • Digital Transformation: Lead digital automation and process improvement initiatives within the finance function.

  • Minimum 7 years' accounting experience with team leadership
  • Strong budgeting, financial reporting, and scenario modelling capabilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
  • Experience using CRM, payroll, and reporting tools
  • High-level communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • A proactive approach to solving complex issues and leading change
