Facilities Officer Job Description

This is a key role that plays a vital part in maintaining safe, functional, and well-managed school facilities that support the learning environment for students and staff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing school facilities, ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards, and providing excellent customer service to the school community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair classrooms, offices, and other school facilities.
  • Coordinate with contractors and tradespeople as required.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and promptly address any issues that arise.
  • Ensure all work complies with WHS standards.
  • Assist with setup and pack down of school activities and events.

  • Demonstrated practical maintenance and repair skills.
  • Strong understanding of WHS compliance and safe work practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, contractors, and the school community.
  • Shows initiative, attention to detail, and pride in maintaining facilities.
