Job Title: Assistant Director, Management Reporting

Bluefin Resources is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Management Reporting to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading the management reporting function, ensuring timely, accurate, and insightful reporting that supports the Executive Board's decision-making and provides strategic advice to senior leaders.

About the Role
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver high-quality end-of-month financial reports for the Executive Board to support decision-making.
  • Work closely with finance business partners to provide meaningful analysis and insights on divisional financial results at the whole-of-department level.
  • Review and improve current end-of-month reporting processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the CFO, divisions, and the Executive Board on key financial and business issues.
  • Play a key role in the roll-out of a new financial management information system, with a focus on improving management reporting.
  • Contribute to the mid-year and annual internal budget setting processes.
  • Prepare a range of written materials including reports, ministerial briefs, and department submissions.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of clear communication, performance excellence, and continuous improvement.

  • Strategic Advisor: Ability to provide insightful and strategic advice to senior leaders on financial and business issues.
  • Process Improvement Expert: A track record of reviewing, improving, and implementing changes to financial processes.
  • Systems Savvy: Experience with financial management systems and involvement in system upgrades or roll-outs, with a focus on management reporting.
  • Exceptional Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, and briefs, and communicate financial insights to various stakeholders.
