Senior Backend Engineer

As a senior backend engineer, you will be part of a cutting-edge digital team that delivers innovative technologies to support lenders and relationship managers in growing CBA's proprietary lending businesses.

You will contribute to all aspects of technology products and services we deliver, from technical strategy and design to coding, deployment, and operation. Our team thrives on open communication, collaboration, and a willingness to explore new solutions.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong product mindset who can design, build, and maintain robust backend applications. You should have experience working collaboratively with team members and cross-functional squads, as well as mentoring junior engineers and conducting thorough code reviews.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to handle different opinions and work towards feasible solutions, and a willingness to take ownership of tasks and collaborate proactively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain robust backend applications using ReactJS, NextJS, NodeJS, NestJS OR .Net.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance for high availability and reliability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct thorough code reviews.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies to enhance system architecture.

Our team uses a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks, including cloud environments like AWS/Azure. Experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Solid experience with full cycle engineering, including test automation (unit, integration, and e2e tests).
  • Experience building scalable, high-performance, and secure APIs.
  • Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, and NoSQL DBs like AWS DocumentDB.
