As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory.

The specimen reception team is central to any pathology lab, and by joining our dynamic team, you will work in one of the largest regional laboratories in the state, servicing a wide range of health services.

You will have the opportunity to learn data entry and other key skills, assisting in the processing of specimens for testing.

Job Requirements
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, all aspects of the laboratory environment relevant to the Department
  • Ability to maintain high-quality work output while managing competing priorities
  • Customer service experience and skills, preferably in a laboratory setting, including effective communication with customers, patients, and clinical staff
Key Skills and Qualifications

Required skills include:

  • Problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve issues within the laboratory environment
  • Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Awareness of legislation, policies, and requirements relevant to a laboratory setting
