Animal Care Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Animal Care Professional to provide exceptional care and attention to animals at our shelter.

As an Animal Care Professional, you will play a vital role in providing daily care and husbandry to all creatures great and small. This includes feeding, cleaning, administering medication, and implementing behavioural initiatives to improve animal welfare.

  • Responsibilities include:
  • Providing daily care and attention to animals;
  • Implementing behavioural initiatives;
  • Providing enrichment activities to stimulate animals' minds and bodies;
  • Working collaboratively with other team members;
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge and skills in animal husbandry, behaviour, and welfare.

  • Dependable and diligent approach to work;
  • Passionate advocate for animal welfare;
  • Compassionate caregiver with dedication to providing essential care and affectionate attention;
  • Team player with ability to work harmoniously within a team;
  • Patience and empathy when interacting with animals;
  • Positive disposition and upbeat outlook;
  • Time management skills to ensure timely care and attention to animals;
  • Basic understanding of animal care principles, including dietary requirements and basic health indicators.

Desirable: Certificate II in Animal Care.
