Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Project Controls Engineer to join our team. This position is designed for immediate engagement, featuring a work schedule of 8 days on followed by 6 days off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate project cost efficiency, monitor spending, and predict future financial needs to assist in budget oversight and fiscal planning.
  • Guide and mentor junior project controls personnel, promoting their professional growth and ensuring uniformity and precision in project controls methodologies.
  • Track project advancement, recognize potential risks and delays, and suggest corrective measures to sustain project progress.
  • Conduct quantity surveying to verify project advancement.
  • Experience with updating P6 or MS Project directly is preferred.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to collect pertinent data and inputs for project controls tasks.
  • Generate regular reports and presentations on project performance, offering insights and recommendations to project teams and clients.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in engineering, data management/analytics, project management, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a comparable role within project controls, ideally in the mining and minerals sector or similar fields.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as MS Excel, Oracle, EcoSys, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent software.
  • Expertise in advanced data analysis and reporting, with proficiency in tools like Power Pivot and Power BI. Capable of transforming raw data into actionable insights and creating dynamic visualizations to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a knack for effectively collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the capacity to inspire and guide team members towards shared objectives.
  • Familiarity with mining industry regulations, standards, and best practices is advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) are beneficial.
