The Financial Operations Manager is a critical role within our finance team, responsible for overseeing and managing the financial performance of our hotels. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in hotel finance operations and possess exceptional leadership and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the team through professional effectiveness, including daily management, training, and motivation to achieve high KPIs and meet set revenue targets and business goals.
- Manage and annually review hotel contracts, such as vendor leases and service contracts, in collaboration with the Area Purchasing Manager.
- Review accounting practices to ensure alignment with guest experience via seamless transaction options and efficient financial dispute resolution.
- Promote collaboration through effective and clear communication and coordination with key department heads and peers across both hotel properties.
- Analyze ROI for capital projects and proficiently present to stakeholders for review and approval.
- Timely month-end processes and cash flow management.
- Oversight of accounts receivable, payable, and payroll.
- Reconciliations and year-end financial tasks.
- Provide impactful financial models and deliver essential analysis for strategic decisions.
- Work with tax and audit advisors for compliance and manage relationships effectively for obligations.
- Review monthly financial reports and supporting schedules prepared by respective Accountants.
- Ensure the profits of the organization are protected through the establishment of effective budgetary controls and expenditure procedures.
- Review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggest methods of improving the planning process as appropriate.
- Perform accurate and timely variance analysis for comparison with budget and monitor actual results against budget commitments.
- Australian citizen.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA qualification.
- Minimum 10 years' senior-level experience in hotel finance operations.
- Hands-on experience with Opera (Hotel Property Management System) and SunSystems accounting software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and commitment to accuracy and accountability.
