Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of core financial processes underpinning ONRSR's mission of safe railways for Australia.
  • Undertake comprehensive accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation in line with organisational standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation to effectively undertake end-to-end fortnightly payroll and administer other aspects of the payroll function.
  • Respond to queries from staff in a timely and supportive manner.
  • Support the efficient onboarding of new staff and manage the corporate credit card function.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts on monthly and annual cycles to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Contribute to revenue processes by raising invoices, managing debtors, and supporting revenue collection activities across the organisation.
  • Assist in preparing periodic returns while providing guidance on related queries to employees at all levels.
  • Participate in year-end financial procedures under the direction of senior finance staff.
  • Contribute to ongoing review and maintenance of finance policies, procedures, guidelines, and work instructions in alignment with ONRSR's financial framework.
  • Ensure timely processing and secure storage of all financial records according to ONRSR's information management framework.
