About the Role

Hudson Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Media Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Media Team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and growing our organisation's reputation through effective media and communication activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Media Team to deliver consistent, quality, and timely media advice, materials, and services.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and ministerial offices to respond effectively to media enquiries and prepare media materials such as media briefings, releases, and talking points.
  • Engage in various activities, including administrative tasks, to support operational needs.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call roster, including some weekend work, with an appropriate allowance provided.

Requirements:

  • Strong written communication skills, and the ability to tailor communication style and language according to the audience.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality outcomes in a small team, including producing high-quality media releases, speeches, and briefing material.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with ministerial staff, executives, and policy areas.
  • An ability to identify and pitch proactive media opportunities to promote our programs and policies.
  • The maturity and judgment to manage competing priorities and deliver work within deadlines.
  • Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
