Job Title: Senior Media Officer

About the Role:

The Senior Media Officer will be responsible for providing high-quality media advice, materials, and services to support the Media Team in delivering consistent, quality, and timely media advice. This includes responding to media enquiries, preparing media briefings, releases, and talking points, and engaging in various activities to support operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert media advice and guidance to the Media Team and internal stakeholders
  • Develop and implement effective media strategies to promote the organization's programs and policies
  • Prepare and disseminate high-quality media releases, speeches, and briefing materials
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with ministerial staff, executives, and policy areas
  • Identify and pitch proactive media opportunities to promote the organization's programs and policies
  • Manage competing priorities and deliver work within deadlines

Requirements:

  • Strong written communication skills and ability to tailor communication style and language according to the audience
  • Proven ability to deliver quality outcomes in a small team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships
  • Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance
