Principal Mechanical Discipline Lead

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to manage the mechanical engineering discipline of a major capital works program. The ideal candidate will be part of a project delivery team supporting the Senior Project Manager.
The Role:
Provide technical leadership, managing projects, mentoring teams, and ensuring quality in the delivery of mechanical engineering deliverables. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Ensure designs meet specifications, are cost-effective, reliable, and have a low environmental impact.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical leadership and guidance to less experienced engineers.
2. Mentor and guide junior engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.
3. Collaborate with the project team to ensure timely and within-budget completion of projects.
4. Conduct design reviews and quality checks to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum 12 years' direct experience managing projects on major hazards facilities (MHF).
2. Demonstrable experience of embedding safety considerations into all aspects of mechanical engineering and design.
3. Proven experience of being directly involved on projects in the chemicals / agricultural sectors.
4. Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and oral.
5. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
