Job Description">

Suncorp is enhancing its natural hazard and reinsurance modeling capabilities, seeking a skilled professional to contribute to the company's financial strength.

This role involves delivering high-quality modeling and insights across natural perils and reinsurance, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support budgeting, reinsurance program design and allocation.

The successful candidate will work within the Capital & Investments team, designing, maintaining and enhancing modelling processes for natural hazard budgeting, reinsurance program optimisation and allocation.

">Key Responsibilities:">
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timely preparation of data used in natural hazard and reinsurance modeling
  • Deliver technical modeling outputs and insights to stakeholders within agreed timeframes and quality standards
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve, automate and simplify modeling and analytical workflows
  • Collaborate with external consultants and reinsurance brokers to validate data and modeling results
">Requirements">

To succeed in this role, you will need:

5+ years experience in financial services, ideally with exposure to general insurance

Strong analytical and statistical skills with attention to detail

Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL and SAS; Python experience desirable

Excellent communication and business writing skills

Ability to manage small to medium projects independently

Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or Mathematics

Near-completion or recently qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia (or equivalent) desired
