Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine Opportunity

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine to join their growing team.

  • The emergency department sees over 33,000 presentations annually and is open 24/7, providing care across all age groups.
  • The unit is supported by a multidisciplinary team, including Emergency Physicians, highly trained nursing staff, and experienced support teams.

The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering high-level clinical care, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to ongoing service improvement and safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert emergency care across a wide range of clinical presentations.
  • Lead and support junior doctors and nursing staff.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across departments for seamless patient care.
  • Engage in audits, education, and quality improvement activities.
  • Contribute to policy development and uphold clinical governance standards.

Requirements:

  • Faculties of Australian, New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (FANZCA) or equivalent specialist registration with AHPRA,
  • demonstrated experience in a comparable emergency setting,
  • commitment to patient-centred care and continuous improvement,
  • leadership capabilities in a multidisciplinary environment,
  • strong interest in teaching and mentorship.
