Environmental Officer

Moss Vale, New South Wales presents a unique opportunity as an Environmental Officer. This full-time position offers a 38 hour workweek with a rostered day off every fortnight.

The role entails enforcing local laws and regulations to maintain public safety, community amenity, and environmental standards across the region. Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out patrols and investigating breaches
  • Education of the public and taking appropriate enforcement actions
  • Supporting broader organisational goals through cultural change and continuous improvement in service delivery

Key requirements for this role include:

  • Relevant qualification in regulatory control or equivalent experience
  • Proven technical knowledge and demonstrated experience in application of statutory frameworks
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven record of using new technology and integrating it into work practices and procedures
  • Previous experience in courts representing the Council and preparing documentation and evidence briefs
  • Demonstrated ability to be resilient to work pressures and demands, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Class C drivers' licence without restriction
