Job Description

We are seeking a skilled mechanical professional to join our service team at our Kalgoorlie Pump Service Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, adjustments and inspections of slurry pumps, valves and hydrocyclones in the Goldfields Region and greater WA mining region.

The role involves on-site mechanical repairs and inspections, ensuring our operations and workshop repairs can continue efficiently with our increased workload. This position requires strong technical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and refurbish used pumps, as well as assemble new pumps in the Kalgoorlie service facility, in accordance with OEM procedures.
  • Support Metso Pump Trials in the field.
  • Carry out hands-on service work such as adjustments, installation, commissioning and operation of pumps on and off customer sites.
  • Internal and external report writing at completion of every field service job.
  • Conduct and/or assist with investigations of customer failures regarding quality, tolerances, specifications and delivered conditions of products.
  • Contributions to clients with technical evaluations and analyse equipment and machine component failures.
Requirements
  • Mechanical trade qualification with at least 2 years' experience - recognised in Australia.
  • Experience with maintenance and/or rebuild/assembly of slurry pumps.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organisation.
  • Hold a current motor vehicle license and be able to pass random medical and drug tests.
  • Physically fit.
  • Ability to travel with short notice.
  • Ability to work away from home, for extended periods and extended hours, on weekends or as required.
