Senior Professional in Financial Analysis

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Consultant.

This role will involve supervising, executing and completing client engagements with responsibility for conducting accounting and financial analysis, and presenting findings in a written form. The successful candidate will have visibility across the whole engagement, allowing them to appreciate how each aspect of the engagement comes together to deliver a high-quality final product. They will work directly with senior members of the team who will support and guide them throughout the engagement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis using Microsoft Excel and other tools to solve problems, including loss and damage assessment
  • Review information received and identify further information required to complete the analysis
  • Analyse and interpret large volumes of information, including accounting, financial and banking records
  • Review financial statements for compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
  • Undertake research into companies and industries using Capital IQ and other data sources
  • Prepare expert reports, client reports and presentations that detail project scope, methodology and findings
  • Interact and meet with clients, including lawyers, in-house counsel and senior accounting personnel
  • Develop project planning and management skills
  • Supervise the work of junior staff and provide coaching to junior team members

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related disciplines
  • Completed or working towards an Australian or internationally recognised professional accounting qualification
  • 3-5 years of professional accounting experience, including experience such as forensic accounting, business valuations, auditing and/or management accounting
  • Strong understanding of, and interest in, forensic accounting
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English required
  • Experience in writing reports
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting principles
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial information
