Senior Investigation and Compliance Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investigation and Compliance Officer to join our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for providing guidance, supervision, mentoring, and support to rangers in their job requirements relating to investigation work.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a regulatory or law enforcement background, with experience in negotiation and mediation with people and external stakeholders in high conflict situations. They will also possess the ability to competently manage difficult situations and people, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a tangible impact on the community through a role offering both purpose and stability. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of enforcing Council By-Laws and other relevant legislation within the municipality, as well as participate in community education and engagement activities.

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Government Investigations or a similar qualification, and hold a Senior First Aid Certificate and OCHRE card or be able to obtain upon commencement. They will also possess sound administrative skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance, supervision, mentoring, and support to rangers in their job requirements relating to investigation work
  • Conduct complex investigations and make recommendations to senior management
  • Manage difficult situations and people
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve compliance and enforcement outcomes
  • Participate in community education and engagement activities
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a regulatory or law enforcement background
  • Experience in negotiation and mediation with people and external stakeholders in high conflict situations
  • Ability to competently manage difficult situations and people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service skills
  • Sound administrative skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
