Chief Cyber Risk and Technology Officer

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Cyber Risk and Technology Officer to lead our organisation's cyber risk management strategy, driving innovation and excellence in technology governance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape our risk culture, influence major transformation projects, and provide strategic oversight of cyber, technology, and data risk.

This senior position reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer, with direct exposure to the Board and Executive Committees. You will partner with senior leaders, offering challenge and support, and translating complex technical issues into clear, actionable insights for business-focused decision-making.

  • Develop and implement effective cyber risk management frameworks, aligning with industry best practices and organisational risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design policies, frameworks, and interpret legislation and regulations related to information security, technology governance, and data governance.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and translate complex technical issues into business-focused insights for CRO, Board, and Executive Committees.
  • Foster a strong risk management culture by developing and embedding mature risk practices, encouraging open discussion of risks, running awareness initiatives, and modelling positive behaviours.
  • Provide independent oversight of cyber resilience exercises and regulatory testing, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organisational requirements.
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of cyber risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and standards (e.g., SOX, PCI DSS, ISO 27000, APRA CPS 234).
  • Proven experience in Cyber Risk and/or Information Security Management or related functions, with a strong track record of influencing at Board and Executive level.
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex technical information to senior audiences, with excellent stakeholder management skills and diverse thought leadership.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with outcome-focused results orientation and exceptional communication abilities.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, or CISM would be highly regarded.
