About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our GAZMAN business, driving growth, innovation, and customer satisfaction. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business, including retail operations, merchandise, product, marketing, people management, and expense management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the GAZMAN business, ensuring maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and growth.
  • Develop and implement business development and expansion strategies to strengthen the company's market position.
  • Directly oversee a highly capable team of senior leaders across all functions of the business, ensuring alignment with the company strategy and providing leadership, mentoring, and development opportunities.
  • Cultivate a culture of honesty, integrity, ethics, and respect, ensuring the business remains an 'employer of choice.'
Requirements
  • Proven GM level experience, ideally in a 'like for like' role within a small to medium retail organisation.
  • A variety of industry backgrounds will be considered, with a focus on soft goods (textiles and/or apparel) and/or homewares.
  • Understanding of the nuances of a family business, with a passion for delivering sustainable results.
  • Ability to articulate a clear vision, develop plans, targets, and timelines to drive business growth.
  • Customer-centric mentality and a retailer at heart, with a focus on creating 'customers for life.'
  • Leadership style that listens, learns, and builds relationships, with a pragmatic and measured approach to decision-making.
  • Sound business acumen and experience managing significant P&L's.
  • Authentic, calm, humble, and down-to-earth, with a non-hierarchical approach.
  • Highly trustworthy, credible, and available, with a strong ability to build relationships and gain trust.
