At Ultra Maritime, we're seeking an exceptional Project Director to spearhead our defence engineering projects. With a strong background in project management and a passion for innovation, you'll be responsible for leading large teams and driving project delivery within the required timeframe and budget.

About the Role:

  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver complex defence engineering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards;
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration;
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to achieve optimal results;
  • Maintain high levels of project control and risk management to mitigate potential threats;
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the project team;
  • Promote Ultra's values and behaviours, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in defence industry project management, preferably in engineering development;
  • Familiarity with technical regulatory frameworks and governance requirements imposed by the Australian Defence Organisation;
  • Solid understanding of PMBOK principles and experience in developing Work Breakdown Structures (DEF(AUST) 5664A preferred);
  • Able to demonstrate expertise in scheduling, budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, interpersonal skills, and customer relationships;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions;
  • Proficient in MS Project or Open Plan Professional, with experience in Earned Value Management system and processes.
