Karara Mining Limited is a leading iron ore producer and steel maker in China, formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited.
The company operates a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant, and significant infrastructure and logistics networks in Western Australia.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our Operational Optimisation Department on a permanent site-based position.
The successful candidate will work on a Full-time 5 days on, 2 days off and 4 days on, 3 days off FIFO roster from Perth.
The role involves providing effective engineering support to improve structural safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness to the processing plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop structural engineering solutions for processing plant performance and plant reliability improvements.
- Provide technical support in all aspects of structural engineering, including management duties during project execution.
- Read and interpret structural drawings, P&IDs, and other reference materials to assist with engineering study and identify improvement initiatives.
- Work across all departments and engineering consultants to ensure effective flow and completion of required capital project study and execution.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A recognised degree qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering (CPEng desirable).
- A WA “C” Class manual driver's licence.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Structural/Civil engineering.
- Demonstrated capability in Civil/Structural engineering study and project planning execution.
- Solid experience in engineering project management and construction site engineering/supervision.
- National Police Clearance.
