Role Summary:
Child and Family Health SpecialistSouth Western Sydney Primary & Community Health is seeking a skilled Child and Family Health Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality psychological assessments, interventions, and consultations for children aged 0–12.
This specialist role focuses on supporting preschool-aged children as they prepare for their transition to school, offering screening, intake, assessment, and therapy in a nurturing and family-centred environment. You'll work closely with children, families, and their support networks to promote emotional wellbeing, developmental progress, and positive outcomes during these formative years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement evidence-based psychological assessments, interventions, and consultation to assess the needs of consumers within Primary and Community Health.
- Support the implementation of the Brighter Beginnings preschool health and development screening initiative.
- Provide assessment, early intervention, capacity building, and direct care pathways for children in SWSLHD.
- Participate in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assist in the development and provision of education and training programs.
- Supervise psychologists and other disciplines working within the Local Health District according to organisational needs.

South Western Sydney Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.
Requirements:
- Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia & Completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas).
- Ability to provide an example where you independently assessed, planned, and implemented an intervention for a child aged 0–5 years.
- Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to improve patient/consumer outcomes for a vulnerable or at-risk family.
- Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2).
