At JJ Communications Pty Ltd, we provide specialized electrical and communication services to modern high-tech industries. As a result of our rapid growth, we are seeking skilled individuals to join our team as High-Rise Telecommunications Technicians.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar telecommunications industry role, which will be an advantage. You will be working under the supervision of the team leader of the rigging crew, performing all rigging works on telecommunications installation sites. This involves working at heights as part of a team.

Your duties will include:

  • Installing, testing, and maintaining telecommunications equipment mounted on high structures, including radio towers
  • Evaluating installation requirements, planning, and performing installations
  • Testing installed equipment and troubleshooting issues
  • Adhering to Client and Industry specifications, standards, and HSE guidelines
  • Interpreting construction/as-built drawings to successfully complete works to a high standard
  • Adjusting, replacing, and repairing faulty items, and testing equipment using electronic instruments
  • Ensuring accurate and timely submission of job-coded paperwork to head office
  • Documenting completions of works, including photographic documentation as required
  • Coordinating with other contractors when necessary

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • An unwavering commitment to safe work practices
  • A thorough knowledge of the use and selection of specific equipment for rigging works (including pullies, winches, blocks, etc.), depending on project requirements
  • The ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Problem-solving skills
  • A current Driver's License

  • Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform the required work (e.g., climbing mobile network towers)
  • The ability to work at heights
  • Possibility for working away from home
  • Developed goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work in a timely and professional manner
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Willingness to contribute to a team environment
  • A Construction White card
  • A current Victorian Police Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate in Rigging (Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced)
  • Work Safely at Heights Certificate & Tower Rescue
  • Licence to Perform High-Risk Work
  • Competency-based qualification and experience with Elevated Work Platforms (EWP)
  • First Aid Certificate
