  • The role of Animal Attendant will be working in a private kennel facility in the following areas:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an Animal Care Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and attention to the animals in our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Feeding and medicating animals
  • Cleaning kennels and drains
  • General cleaning and restocking of cupboards in the kitchen
  • Washing up
  • Attending to laundry
  • Walking dogs
  • Preparing and distributing enrichment
  • Providing socialisation and in-pen training
  • Bathing dogs
  • Cleaning up the yards

Requirements:

">
  • Minimum of 1-year experience professionally working with dogs (daycare, boarding, shelter)
  • Solid understanding and ability to read canine behaviour
  • Basic dog handling skill set (desirable)
  • Any certificates or qualifications in animal studies is desirable but not required
  • Drive to learn and grow
  • Positive, hard-working and enthusiastic drive
  • Ability to work independently and confidently on certain tasks
  • Grit and determination
  • Willingness to get dirty, as well as participate in an extensive cleaning routine
  • Ability to cover shifts with short notice and be available to work weekends and holidays
