Dog Walker

Borders Dog Walking Co. is a locally owned and operated dog walking service that provides off-lead group dog walks in Perths western suburbs. Our small team is growing and we're on the lookout for a dog walker extraordinaire to join us.

This is a casual position with approximately 25 hours per week available. You will have regular set days each week of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The occasional Tuesday will be required for holiday cover.

**The role will start with shorter shifts (i.e. less hours) until you can work autonomously.**

We have built a reputation for being reliable, trustworthy and professional. We are looking for someone that fits into our fun loving and bubbly team effortlessly to continue to provide our clients with the quality and care of service they know and love us for.

Our office is based in Willagee which is where you will start your day.  Being located close would be advantageous for you given the amount of driving involved in your day but not essential.

Job Description:

• Transporting multiple dogs safely and securely between their homes and parks & beaches.
• Exercise dogs and guide their adventures.
• Supervise, engage with and actively monitor the dogs in your care.
• Evaluate hazardous situations and keep yourself and the dogs safe.
• Clean up dog waste and follow council guidelines
• Take photos or videos of the fun
• Use positive reward-based training to reenforce good behaviour and manners.

Skills and attributes we are looking for:

• Previous experience working professionally with dogs
  
  i.e. animal handler, doggie daycare, vet practice, dogs refuge home, dog trainer, boarding kennel etc.
• Qualifications in the animal related industry
• Proven experience handling dogs with confidence with all breeds, sizes and ages
• Excellent navigation skills being able to know your way around quickly and easily
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent time management to meet a busy schedule
• Excellent communication skills in-person, via text and over the phone
• Patience and punctuality
• A positive can-do attitude

You Will Need:

• A clean driving record and a current Australian drivers license.
• A current police check
• A smart phone (with data) capable of taking & sending photos via WhatsApp.
• To be physically fit & active. You will be on your feet all day.
• To enjoy being outdoors, despite the elements, rain or shine

The successful candidate will be rewarded with:

• Casual hourly rate $30.00 plus Superannuation
• Work hours 7:30am - 5pm
• On the job training
