Lead Payroll Strategist

This is a pivotal role at the centre of our payroll division. You will bring technical mastery, strategic leadership and commercial acumen to oversee our outsourced services.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced professional with deep expertise in Australian payroll compliance, modern awards and termination processes. Your technical knowledge will enable you to interpret complex awards and enterprise agreements, manage terminations and provide expert advice on legislative compliance.

This role involves leading and inspiring teams to drive high performance, integration and collaboration across payroll and HR functions. You will be responsible for developing strategies to enhance system use, embed efficiencies and deliver exceptional client service.

You will work closely with clients to onboard them and ensure seamless transitions. Additionally, you will develop team capability through training, coaching and knowledge-sharing, ensuring we stay ahead of industry change.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement payroll strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Provide expert advice on Australian payroll compliance, modern awards and termination processes
  • Manage terminations and interpret complex awards and enterprise agreements
  • Develop and lead cross-functional teams to drive high performance
  • Ensure seamless client onboarding and delivery of exceptional client service
  • Develop team capability through training, coaching and knowledge-sharing

Requirements:

  • Deep expertise in Australian payroll compliance, modern awards and termination processes
  • Advanced experience with Employment Hero Payroll (Keypay) platform
  • Strong background in outsourced payroll/HR or professional services
  • Working knowledge of HR responsibilities including contract law and legislative compliance
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a proven track record in managing and growing teams
