Job Title

Environmental Leadership and Management Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Leader to manage a small team responsible for delivering on-ground regulatory response in the North East Victoria Region.

The successful candidate will plan, oversee and deliver front-line regulatory operations, aligned to our strategic priorities, to prevent harms to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.

  • Lead and manage a team to achieve high standards of performance, accountability, collaboration, ethics, and integrity; manage the allocation of resources, budgets, business and project planning and reporting; and demonstrate a strong commitment to a positive and diverse culture.
  • Participate in the response to environmental and public health emergencies and incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, policy and process obligations and requirements in the conduct of regulatory operations, leading a safety-first approach.
  • Actively participate in the conduct of investigations (under the direction of Environmental Crime Branch); and the delivery of preventative projects and compliance programs aligned to our regulatory priorities.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience and a record of achievement in a relevant leadership regulatory role (e.g. environmental regulation).
  • Demonstrated experience and proven ability to lead a high performing team.
  • Proven ability to apply relevant government legislation, regulations, reporting directives and procedures, to achieve optimal organisational outcomes.
  • Ability to think outside the square, a willingness to try new things and a genuine desire to learn, share knowledge and make a difference.
