Academic Dietitian

Our organization seeks a skilled Academic Dietitian to lead the Master of Dietetics Programme and engage in relevant research.

This is a full-time role that emphasizes innovative curriculum design, delivering exceptional learning experiences, and fostering a rich academic environment that encourages student engagement.

Key responsibilities include providing strategic leadership and developing high-quality learning materials for postgraduate dietetics students.

• Provide vision and direction for curriculum development of the Master of Dietetics programme.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive teaching programs for dietetics students.
• Assess student work and coordinate several units.
• Engage in ongoing improvement in teaching methods.

• Build research capability to conduct high-quality dietetics discipline research and/or scholarship of learning and teaching, including seeking funding as a co- or chief investigator.
• Share findings through publications, seminars, and conferences.
• Provide supervision to postgraduate research students.
• Establish research collaborations with external stakeholders and aim for national recognition in your research field.

• Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain expertise in dietetics and education.
• Engage in industry networks and collaborations to advance the profession and discipline.
• Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture and contribute to collegial activities across the organization.

• Accredited Practicing Dietitian recognised by Dietitians Australia with a doctoral qualification in Dietetics or relevant discipline.
• Ability to demonstrate high-level teaching skills and a reflective approach to teaching delivery.
• Experience applying Dietitians Australia National Competency Standards, Accreditation Standards for Dietetics Education Programs, and assessing performance of dietetic students on professional practice programs.
• Strong understanding of pedagogical theory, contemporary educational practices, and a record of scholarship in teaching, including unit/course coordination relevant to the discipline.
• Evidence of emerging research or scholarship of learning and teaching outputs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to fostering a collegial environment and cross-cultural sensitivity.
• Commitment to applying relevant policies and procedures in daily responsibilities.
